Children's Park

With the nice sunny warm (relatively) weather today, a trip to the park was in order. We decided to go to the Children's Park at Washington Park. We spotted it from the zoo train earlier this summer. It had a HUGE play structure with everything a kid Drew's age could ask for.

The play structure... hiding amongst the trees

Drew climbing up on the playground. Notice the tree growing out of the deck... fancy!

Drew loved the slides, this one in particular.

I've been to a lot of playgrounds in the past three years, but I've never seen this thing. It was interesting, like walking up a sheet. Drew liked it.

For some reason, most of the time he rode this slide, he ended up sideways or backwards... maybe that is why he liked it so much.

Heading back to the car, we got to walk up a slippery leafy hill... Yay!

Great Grandpa

In just the past few days, Drew has begun to enjoy talking on the phone. He made thank you phone calls today to his Great Grandpa in Kentucky and his uncle in Seattle. It was pretty exciting because this is the first time he has spent more than 30 seconds on the phone with anyone. He actually took the phone and walked around the house while talking. 5 minutes per phone call.

Drew is looking at a picture of Grandpa, describing his beard to him. (he said it was white)

Wrapping up the phone call.

Get ready... Drew is in a phone talking mood... the next call could be to you!

3

Drew turned three today. His birthday basically started yesterday morning when he got the birthday treatment at his day care. Presents, cupcakes, he got to pick all of the meals... it was pretty sweet. Later we all went to Chevy's (Drew's favorite) for dinner, followed by more presents from Grammy and Grandpa (Schmampa). Today, he got to help bake his birthday cake and he got to open more presents! Woo-hoo!

Drew opens the rest of his presents. He is wearing a brand new shirt from Nana, and is now looking to see what else was in the package from her. He loves new clothes!

Mommy and Daddy gave Drew his first Nerf dart gun. He's getting better at hitting the mirror at the end of the hall.

Drew loads a dart.

Someone looks excited to be getting cake!

Got them all first try!

A slice of cake with the best part... candy letters!

Mmmmm... candy letters

The totally sweet sombrero from Chevy's last night.

Sombreros are more fun when combined with knight helmets.

Early Birthday

Drew turns three tomorrow. His Grammy and Grandpa took us all out to dinner at his favorite restaurant, Chevy's. He got a totally sweet sombrero as the wait staff sang Happy Birthday to him, pictures will hopefully be coming soon. Here are some pics of Drew as he is opening and enjoying his new presents!

Oh, man... it's gotta be something good!

A knight set... Watch out, Dragons!

Oh no! I'm the dragon!

Leaves!

THe day after Hallowen, the weather was cool but dry. Since then it has been cool and rainy (Hello, Winter!) Drew had a good time playing in our giant pile of leaves (most of them were still on the tree at this point)

Jump into the leaves Drew!

Drew likes to throw the leaves around.

Drew enjoyed throwing the leaves back into the air.
