One Week!

Jill is due on Saturday, but due to prior history, we are still pretty sure Newbie will be born on Wednesday the 8th, by cesarean. We are getting xcited, and a bit anxious. We bought the last of anything we need today, (the ast items were reusable diapers for miscellaneous rags, binkies, and changing pad covers). The nursery is stocked and ready. BRING ON THE BABY! We are ready already!

We have been keeping busy shuttling Drew around this summer. He has school on Mondays and Wednesdays, soccer Monday and Tuesday nights, and swim lessons Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Speaking of which... two days ago was his first swim lesson of the summer. The way it works at the pool, the parents drop the kids off at the pool (haha), make sure the instructor knows the kid is there, and then retreats to a viewing area behind a huge glass window. This way the instructors can do their jobs without the kids constantly trying to get back with the parents. Tuesday there were three clingy moms that would not leave the pool area for whatever reason. They just stood in front of the damn viewing window so that we could not even see what Drew was doing most of the time. What the hell? Are these parents stupid? Do they not understand directions that were explicitly stated to them not minutes before? Talk about irritating... and their kids kept running back to them and interupting the class. I was so close to going in there and telling the people to get a clue, but didn't want to come off as a dick. At least Drew still had fun.

After swimming, we went to the skate park again. I brought my rollerblades and hit up the park myself. It was fun, but it was a bit tricky at the same time. I fell only once (so did Drew). I also tried the smaller of the two pools. That would be more fun to try if there weren't other people there watching me struggle.

Maybe we'll go again tomorrow.

Until next time...

So excited! You're getting so close! Glad to hear you're cramming in lots of fun stuff with Drew in his last days as an only child. :)

It sounds like with all of his skating and soccer and swimming that he's having a great summer so far!
